Marshalls has made its long-awaited debut in Emporia.
The retail store at the Emporia Pavilions development, 24th and Industrial, had its official grand opening celebration shortly after sunrise Thursday morning. It offers clothing, home decor, beauty items and gifts.
Marshalls was supposed to open last fall, but several supply chain issues delayed that process. Regardless, it joins Ross Dress for Less and Shoe Dept Encore, both of which opened before the traditional holiday shopping season, and Hobby Lobby, which opened in 2017.
Developer Spencer Thomson is planning at least one more wave of retail stores and several restaurants at the Pavilions. Announcements will not be made until later this year.
