Frigid conditions are greeting area residents to start the week.
Temperatures early Sunday have been in the low teens, but wind chills have been just above zero and could dip slightly below zero, thanks to northerly wind gusts from 20-35 mph. After highs in the low 20s Sunday afternoon, a repeat is likely Sunday night with air temperatures around 10 above and wind chills as low as -5.
High temperatures should improve through the week, and upper 40s are expected now for Friday and Saturday. There was a slight chance of snowfall Tuesday, but the latest forecast eliminates that chance.
