The Emporia Children’s Choir has now been active for close to a month and is now set for its first major fundraiser this weekend.
St. Mark’s Lutheran Church will be hosting a spaghetti feed for the choir Sunday afternoon. The feed will run from 11:30 pm to 1:30 pm at St. Mark’s located at 1508 W. 12th Ave.
St. Mark’s Pastor Kent Happel says residents will have plenty of choices when it comes to their spaghetti.
The cost of the feed is a free will donation with all proceeds going directly to the children’s choir which is currently preparing for its first public concert on Thursday, Mar. 9. Director Anna Ryan says the proceeds will be used for a variety of reasons including purchasing matching polos for the choir to create a greater sense of unity.
The choir is open to children from fourth to eighth grade and is free to participate. The choir practices Thursdays from 7:00 pm to 7:45 pm at St. Mark’s.
The choir will also have a performance on Sunday, Mar. 5 during the 9 am church service at St. Mark’s.
