Greenwood County officials are looking for a man who has apparently been missing since this past summer.
Brandon Shane Smith has been missing since July 28, according to Kansas Missing and Unsolved. A heavy equipment operator, certified hazardous materials instructor, farmer and equipment mechanic, Smith did not renew his Commercial Driver’s LIcense when it expired in October. He had also been working at Simmons before his disappearance.
Smith, now 37, is a white male listed as 5-foot-11, around 240 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He may have a beard or goatee. He has half a foot on the left side because of an oil rig accident in 2012. He has several tattoos, including a “Jacksyn, Dayde, Smith” and a sudden infant death syndrome ribbon on his upper left arm, “ERS” in an Old English font on his left forearm and a skull-and-crossbones partially covering the words “Jessie Leaire” on his right forearm. He’s also known to wear hats and square-toed Ariat boots whenever he’s in public.
