Welcome rainfall appears likely for the KVOE listening area by Wednesday afternoon.
Rain may begin by mid-afternoon and clear the area by midnight. The National Weather Service expects anywhere from 0.25-0.75 inches of rain by the time this winter storm leaves the area. More rain is possible Thursday night along with some snowflakes, but the chances of rain aren’t as good as the chances for Wednesday.
Any rain will come too late to affect the US Drought Monitor’s weekly map set for release Thursday. Data collection ended Tuesday. Moderate to extreme drought affects the KVOE listening area north to south, with exceptional drought just south of the area.
