The Emporia State baseball team was outscored by Minot State 7-2 Friday afternoon in the first of a 4-game series.
The Hornets held a 2-1 lead after they scored on a Noah Geekie single in the 5th inning and added a run in the bottom of the 7th on a fielder’s choice.
Minot state would score 3 runs in the 8th and added 3 more runs in the 9th inning for the win.
The two teams will play a doubleheader Saturday and a single game Sunday.
All games will be played at Rock Creek High School at St. George.
A new turf infield is being installed at Glennen Field at the Trusler Sports Complex.
The Hornets take a 2-1 record into the series.
