The Emporia High basketball teams are down to their final three games of the regular season.
The Lady Spartans and Spartans host Manhattan Tuesday night.
For the Lady Spartans, who are 14-3 and 5-2 in the Centennial League, it’s a game they want to get back after Manhattan defeated them on Jan. 17. Manhattan is 7-10 on the season and 3-4 in league play.
Coach Carolyn Dorsey says it’ll take a team effort if they want to extend their winning streak to three games.
Junior Zayda Pearson says they have to be focused just like against Topeka High.
The Emporia High boys look for the season sweep over Manhattan. The Spartans are 12-5 on the season and 5-2 in league play. Manhattan is 10-7 and 4-3 in league play.
Coach Lee Baldwin says they have to find ways to produce against Manhattan’s zone defense.
Sophomore River Peters says they have to be focused on the task at hand.
Game times from Emporia High are 6 p.m. for the girls, 7:30 p.m. for the boys. You can listen to the games on Mix 104.9 FM with coverage beginning at 5:45 p.m.
