Several Lyon County fire departments responded to a brush fire between Emporia and Admire on Monday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 4 pm in the 3000 block of Road P, about four miles south-southwest of Admire. Allen-Admire, Miller, Reading and Emporia’s rural fire unit were all dispatched.
It took over an hour for crews to get the fire fully under control. Details are pending on the cause and amount of acreage burned.
