With the actual Super Bowl now in the rearview, the Super Bowl for local florists, jewelers and chocolatiers is just beginning.
With Valentine’s Day coming Tuesday, local flower shops are seeing a high level of foot traffic. At Riverside Gardens owner Vickie Triemer says traffic has been very steady and she expects it’ll stay that way until the end of the day Tuesday.
At the Sweet Granada, owner Kim Redeker says her staff is busy dipping between 5,000 to 7,000 chocolate strawberries, a classic Valentine’s treat that traditionally flies off the shelf. Redeker says with the hustle and bustle they have had to call in some reinforcements.
Kari’s Diamonds and Bridal extended the store’s hours, opening on a Monday, to accommodate local shoppers according to Kathy Zwolinski of Kari’s.
While busy preparing Valentine’s Day orders, local shop owners add they are also ready for those who may come through their doors searching for the perfect last-minute gift on the day itself.
