Three Emporia State athletes have been named MIAA Athletes of the Week.
Alijah Comithier has been named the men’s basketball player of the week. He tied the Emporia State single-game record by going nine for nine from the field in a 92-63 win over Newman to clinch a spot in the MIAA Tournament.
Tre’Zure Jobe has been named the women’s basketball player of the week. Tre’Zure scored 35 points in the Lady Hornets’ win over Newman. She is 11 points away from becoming the third Lady Hornet to score at least 2,000 career points.
And Ari Cordova, junior third baseman, has been named the MIAA Softball Co-Hitter of the Week. The junior transfer from Butler CC hit .500, drove in 10 runs, and had six stolen bases as Emporia State opened the season 5-1 at the Lubbock College Sports Invitational.
