Jami Dakin will have a special Valentine’s Day this week.
Dakin won KVOE’s annual Cupid’s Arrow contest Monday. She wins a one-third carat weight diamond heart necklace set in 14k white gold valued at just under $1,000 from Kari’s Diamonds and Bridal. Once her “love word” was announced, she had two minutes to call and claim her prize. It took her about 20 seconds.
Qualifiers called KVOE at specified times over the past few weeks, trying to guess the correct “love word.” Qualifiers also won prizes from contest sponsors like Emporia Floral, Goodcents, the Sweet Granada, AKA the Sports Fan, Jack’s Lawn and Pool and Gambinos Pizza. Dakin’s love word was “dear.”
