Chiefs Kingdom is getting ready to celebrate, and on the list is Chiefs Ambassador and former Chiefs defensive lineman John Lohmeyer.
The former Emporia State team captain enjoyed Super Bowl 57 at State Farm Stadium with his son, Eric. On KVOE’s Monday Morning Quarterback, he said he’s ready for all the celebration activities in Kansas City on Wednesday.
The Lohmeyers saw what other Chiefs fans did: a tale of two halves.
John Lohmeyer was a four-year letter winner for Emporia State and was team captain in 1972, being named to the NAIA District 10 and GPAC all-conference first teams and leading the Hornets to the GPAC title and a third-place ranking in the NAIA poll. Following his time at ESU, Lohmeyer was drafted in the fourth round by the Chiefs and played four seasons as a defensive lineman, starting 15 games and serving as special teams captain.
