Council Grove Police have arrested one person after he allegedly pointed a firearm at two people earlier this week.
Police Chief Shawn Wangerin says officers responded to 20 North Belfry for what he called a “frantic” 911 call on Monday. Officers determined the suspect, identified as Derek Adams of Council Grove, had pointed an unspecified firearm at others and made “numerous” unspecified statements in the process.
Adams was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, aggravated child endangerment and felon in possession of a firearm. Formal charges are pending.
Separately, Council Grove officers arrested two Wilsey residents Sunday evening as part of what Wangerin calls a drug investigation.
Wangerin says officers went to the 500 block of North Union in Council Grove, arresting Levi Orebaugh on suspicion of drug possession with intent to distribute and paraphernalia possession. Later, officers conducted a search warrant at 108 Fifth Street in Wilsey, arresting Caleb Orebaugh on suspicion of possessing marijuana and paraphernalia.
Formal charges are pending in this case.
The Morris County Sheriff’s Office helped with both investigations.
