Next week, the Kansas Department of Transportation begins a highway field survey effort near Melvern.
The survey involves two bridges on US Highway 75 that go over Kansas Highway 276 and the Marais des Cygnes River about four and seven miles north of the Coffey County line, respectively. KDOT says it needs to conduct the survey because improvements are planned and this effort will help gather information for “detailed” design work.
The survey is set to begin Monday and conclude by April 15. Survey crew members will contact landowners and/or tenants for permission to enter private property.
