Emporia Main Street set the stage for future projects with a raucous Public Improvement Auction at the Emporia Granada Theatre on Saturday.
Community Development Coordinator Jessica Buchholz says proceeds will help with specific projects — in this case, upgrades from past projects and infrastructure support for events. Put another way, the funds help to augment the downtown Emporia atmosphere.
Over $30,000 was raised through a live auction and silent auction, with entertainment provided by Dueling Pianos.
With the Public Improvement Auction now concluded, Main Street is still seeking participants for its Show of Hands pitch contest and E-Tech Startup boot camp. It’s also into full preparation for The Taste on April 15 and the Glass Blown Open block party and food truck festival on April 29.
