Emporia State track and field athletes earned five event champions, two provisional qualifiers and a school record on Friday at the Steve Miller Invitational hosted by Kansas State.
Megan McManis became the first Hornet woman to clear 13 feet in the pole vault as she went over 13-0.75 to win the event and provisionally qualify for nationals.
Emporia State won both the men’s and women’s triple jump titles. Ashley Cookson won the women’s championship with a jump of 34-10.5.
Tristan Madden won the men’s triple jump with a leap of 44-8.25.
Travis Morrison had a provisional qualifier 56-1.25 to win the men’s shot put.
Jake Johnson had the only first-place finish on the track for Emporia State. He ran 50.11 to win the men’s 400m dash.
The Emporia State womens tennis team defeated Tabor 7-0 Friday.
Saturday the Emporia State men host Tabor in a duel.
