No red flag warnings have been issued for area counties, but outdoor burning is strongly discouraged across the KVOE listening area until Sunday morning.
Grasses are still dry despite recent rain and snow, and south winds as high as 40 mph and humidity levels under 30 percent will lead to a very high fire danger areawide until wind speeds diminish after midnight. Recent precipitation, both earlier this week and late last week, have generated a lot of mud, making it difficult for fire vehicles to position or reposition as needed.
