Members of the Emporia Recreation Commission have a lot of topics to discuss in their monthly meeting Monday evening.
Besides looking ahead short-term to an all-boards meeting Feb. 27 with the Emporia City Commission and the upcoming Class 5A state basketball tournament at White Auditorium, board members will look long-term at funding for a potential expansion of the Lee Beran Recreation Center or the construction of a second recreation facility. They will also discuss capital improvement priorities with consultant Dick Horton.
In addition, board members will discuss a project to replace flooring in the Rec Center’s fitness center and aerobics studio. A proposal from Wright CPA on employer retention tax credits may also see action.
The meeting begins at 5:30 pm Monday at the Rec Center.
