The third annual Leap of Faith Martial Arts Kick-A-Thon welcomed members of the community to learn different techniques in martial arts while supporting a good cause Sunday afternoon.
Once again, the Kick-A-Thon supported Shiloh Home of Hope’s Family Life Pregnancy Services. Leap of Faith Martial Arts owner Brad Douglas says supporting community services is a big part of their mission.
This year the Kick-A-Thon added two new activities for people to participate in, a “Break Sale” where people learned how to break a board and a “Thunk Tank” where participants learned basic kicks and tried them out on an instructor. Shiloh Home of Hope’s Family Life Pregnancy Services Director Carol Alderman was among the participants and says the organization is thankful for Leap of Faith’s and the community’s support.
The idea of the Kick-A-Thon came from 14-year-old Annika Douglas an instructor, black belt and co-owner of Leap of Faith. Douglas says she and the students are happy to use their skills to support an organization that does so much for women and children in need.
