Lyon County may have a new partnership for animal quarantine services following the Lyon County Commission’s weekly meeting Thursday morning.
Lyon County Sheriff Jeff Cope will present a contract with an unnamed entity to that end as announced last week. According to Cope, the contract will run on a yearly basis and will allow the county to maintain all statutory requirements for animal quarantines.
Further details on the contract have not been announced.
Additionally, commissioners will field a trio of requests from Lyon County Engineer Chip Woods. A quote from Nextran Truck Centers in Kansas City, Missouri for a 2023 Mack Granite Dump Truck with a Warren Dump body, Sander, and a Henke Snow Plow totaling $242,083, a quote from Foley Equipment Company for a 2023 CAT 299D3XE Skid steer totaling $123,530.00 and a request to approve encumbering an additional $59,000.00 to KDOT fiscal services for the Troublesome Creek bridge replacement will all see consideration.
Lyon County Appraiser Ryan Janzen will present a report on 2023 valuation trends and mailing the 2023 change of valuation notices. Robbie Weiss of the Lyon County Facilities department will present a bid for temperature controls for the Lyon County Law Enforcement Center and Lyon County Counselor Molly Priest will present a resolution authorizing the foreclosure of tax liens and sale of real property for the collection of delinquent taxes.
Two executive sessions, one for legal matters and one for non-elected personnel, are also planned. The meeting begins at 9 am inside of the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
