A plea may be in the works as part of an alleged chase incident in Emporia from this past fall.
As part of a hearing recently in Lyon County District Court, Judge Lee Fowler canceled all potential trial settings in the case against Jon Arch Buchanan and set a plea hearing for 11 am May 12 with the possibility of an agreement being reached before the new hearing date.
Buchanan was accused of flee and elude and interference with law enforcement after allegedly leaving the scene of a developing traffic stop and driving away from officers before ditching his vehicle and fleeing on foot on Nov. 30.
