The Emporia High basketball team’s sub-state pairings were announced Saturday morning.
The Lady Spartans are the No. 3-seed and will host No. 14-seed Newton at 7 p.m. Tuesday. A win for Emporia High would send them to the sub-state championship game on Friday, which they would host against the winner between Maize South and Salina South.
The Emporia High girls will take a 16-3 record into sub-state. Tuesday’s game will be broadcast on Mix 104.9 FM.
The Spartans are the No. 6-seed and will host Bishop Carroll, the No. 11-seed at 7 p.m. Wednesday. A win for Emporia High would send them to the sub-state championship game on Saturday against the winner between Andover and Goddard. If Andover wins, Emporia High will travel to Andover. If Goddard wins, Emporia High will host. Wednesday’s game will be broadcast on 14 KVOE-AM/96.9 FM.
The Emporia High boys will take a 14-5 record into sub-state.
Senior Night festivities that were scheduled for Friday night will take place after Tuesday’s girls game.
