The Emporia State softball team swept St. Cloud State to extend their winning streak to 6 in a row Monday.
The Lady Hornets won the first game 3-1.
Haley Garnett gave Emporia State the lead with a 2-run home run in the 1st inning.
Emma Furnish drove in a run with a single in the 6th inning.
Gracie Rabe was the winning pitcher going 7 innings giving up the 1 run on 2 hits with 6 strikeouts.
Emporia State walked off with a 6-5 win in the 2nd game. McKenzie Glass drove in the winning run.
Abby Ward and Ari Cordova each drove in a run in the 1st inning.
Alexis Dial drove in 2 runs in the 4th inning to give the Lady Hornets a 4-0 lead.
St. Cloud tied the game with 3 runs in the 5th inning and added 2 runs in the 6th.
Emporia State Coach April Rosales said they showed a lot of resilience.
The Emporia State softball team improves to 13-5 for the season. They will host William Jewell next Tuesday.
