St. David’s Day is returning to bring its festivities to Emporia and Lebo this year.
Starting Thursday, Emporia will see the start of several activities in celebration of St. David’s Day, a holiday honoring Welsh heritage. The day is an important day of celebration and most importantly music, explains Carolyn Turney, event organizer.
Thus, event organizer Jan Briggs says the lineup is reflective of such.
Sunday’s concert will begin at 2:30 pm at the Emporia Presbyterian Church West Campus and will be followed up by tea and available baked goods. Admission is free.
Thursday afternoon, the Lebo United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall will be host to an afternoon of Welsh cakes, tea, and celebration from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
