The Emporia State men’s basketball team outscored Lincoln 79-70 in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Tournament Friday.
The Hornets jumped out to a 12-2 lead and never trailed.
Their biggest lead in the second half was by 21 points.
Emporia State Coach Craig Doty said the good start was what they needed.
Kaden Evans led the offense scoring 19 points making 5 three-point shots. Alijah Comithier added a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Peyton Rogers Schmidt finished with 12 points.
Emporia State will face Northwest Missouri State Saturday in the semi-finals. Tipoff is set for 12 pm. The game will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.
The other semi-final has Central Oklahoma playing Fort Hays State.
The two winners will meet in the Championship game Sunday at 1 pm.
