The Emporia High Spartan boys saw their season come to an end with a 55-29 loss to Andover in the sub-state championship Saturday.
Andover jumped out to an early 9-0 lead and would never trail in the ball game. Emporia High would come as close as three to tying the game but could never overcome the deficit.
Senior Jalyn King led the Spartans with 10 points on the night. Despite the ending, Head Coach Lee Baldwin says it was a “special year” for his team.
The Spartans end the season with a record of 15-6.
