The Lyon County Highway Department had some unscheduled weekend work develop Sunday.
A culvert collapsed in the 2200 block of Road 140, just southeast of Neosho Rapids, after the ground caved in near the tube for currently unlisted reasons. The collapse was reported Sunday morning.
Traffic is down to one lane during the repair process which could last into Monday.
Google Maps initially put the construction zone between Emporia and Neosho Rapids.
