The Emporia State men’s basketball team is going dancing.
The Hornets have received an at-large bid to the NCAA Central Regional Tournament.
They are the number 7 seed and will open against the number 2 seed Northern State. The Northern Suns North Division Champions.
Coach Craig Doty says it’s a big accomplishment to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
Junior Mason Thiessen says it is a rewarding experience.
Sophomore Kaden Evans said it took a collective effort to reach the NCAA tournament.
The Hornets are making their 3rd NCAA tournament appearance and first since 2007.
The Regional Tournament will be hosted by number 1 seed Northwest Missouri State. The Bearcats open against Southern Arkansas.
Central Oklahoma is the number 3 seed and will play Minnesota Duluth.
Moorhead State is the number 4 seed and will play Southern Nazarene.
Emporia State will play its first game Saturday, March 11th at 2:15 pm.

Tickets for the 2023 NCAA Division II Central Region Men’s Basketball Tournament event are general admission (with the exception of Section B) and are good for both games during a single session. Bearcat Arena will be cleared between the afternoon and evening session on Saturday only. Each team will be allotted a minimum of 150 general admission tickets per session.

– Session 1 and 2 tickets will go on sale online beginning Wednesday, March 8 at 8:00 am.
– Session 3 tickets (Sunday, Semifinal games) will go on sale online on Saturday, March 11 at 11:00 pm.
– Session 4 tickets (Tuesday, Championship game) will go on sale online Sunday, March 12 at 11:00 pm.
