What was originally reported as a collapse of a culvert near Neosho Rapids appears to be less serious than originally thought.
According to Lyon County Engineer Chip Woods, the culvert was reported as collapsed Sunday in the 2200 block of Road 140. However; upon further inspection, Woods says the culvert simply had a hole develop but did not fully collapse.
Woods says they are currently working with the landowner to schedule repairs to the culvert. Weather depending, he tells KVOE News it may be a week before the road is fully repaired.
Traffic remains down to one lane in the area.
