For the second time in three days, a small earthquake developed just west of the KVOE listening area. The Tuesday quake was felt across part of the KVOE listening area west of Emporia.
Tuesday’s quake had a preliminary magnitude of 2.6, with an epicenter about 10 miles west of Elmdale and 35 miles west of Emporia. There were two reports of weak shaking with no damage at Elmdale.
The quake followed a magnitude 2.5 quake that developed in almost the exact same location shortly after 5:30 am Sunday. There were no reports of shaking from that incident.
