Logan Avenue will have a new leader following the conclusion of the current academic year.
During the USD 253 Board of Education meeting Wednesday night, board members approved the hiring of Walker Ayers as the new principal for the building for the 2023-2024 school year. Ayers comes to Logan Avenue from Village Elementary where he currently teaches third grade.
Ayers has been with the district since 2019 and is a graduate of Emporia State University where Ayers earned Bachelor’s degrees in Education and Sociology and a Master’s Degree in K-12 Administration. In a news release from the district Ayers states, “I am honored to have the opportunity to continue my growth as an educator with USD 253. I look forward to serving and supporting the students, staff, and community of Logan Avenue. It is a dream come true and I am eager to get started!”
Ayers will assume his new role in July and replaces Vanessa Hinds who has resigned from the position effective in June.
