Three members of the Emporia High boys basketball team received All-Centennial League honors.
Jalyn King was named a first-team selection and was named the league’s newcomer of the year. King averaged 10.6 points per game in 21 games played. He had three 20-point performances and was named to the Ralph Miller Classic All-Tournament Team.
Parker Leeds is a second team selection. Leeds averaged nine points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Leeds’ season-high was 19 points against Wichita Trinity.
Fred Jackson is an honorable mention selection. He averaged five points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals in 21 games. Jackson had a season-high 11 points on three different occasions, against Spring Hill, Topeka High and Manhattan.
Lee Baldwin was named the league’s Coach of the Year. The Spartans went from winning four games during the 2021-22 season to finishing 15-6 in 2022-23.
