For those looking for something to do over Spring Break week, two local institutions have plenty of options available to you.
Between now and Friday, the Emporia Public Library is offering “spring craft week.” Every morning starting at 9 am crafts will be available for patrons to take part in inside of the library’s main lobby.
Also, Director Pauline Stacchini says the library will be hosting a special dance Wednesday evening inspired by a wildly popular Netflix series.
The Raven Dance will take place from 3-4 pm for grades 6-8 and 6:30 pm to 8 pm for grades 9-12. The library will also continue its various book clubs and will be hosting its Lego Master Builders program for grades K-5 Tuesday and Friday at 2:30 pm.
In addition to events at the library this week, residents can also take advantage of activities through the David Traylor Zoo. Following its Spring Forward event from this past weekend, the zoo will be continuing its craft activities at its temporary office at 517 Merchant Street.
Education Coordinator Kelly Proehl says crafting will take place Monday through Friday from 1 pm to 3 pm and will focus on amphibious education, specifically frogs.
