The Emporia State baseball team split a doubleheader with Central Missouri Sunday.
The Hornets won the first game 3-2. Scoring all 3 runs in the 3rd inning on back-to-back walks to Kadyn Williams and Chandler Bloomer. Williams scored on a Palmer Hutchinson single. Bloomer scored on a wild pitch and Hutchinson scored on a ground out.
Noah Geekie was the winning pitcher going 8 innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits with 10 strikeouts.
Central Missouri won the second game 10-2 scoring 3 runs in the 3rd inning, 2 runs in the 7th, and 3 runs in the 9th.
Central wins the series 2 games to 1.
The Hornets are scheduled to play at Pittsburg State on Tuesday.
