Numerous hearings of note are set to take place Wednesday in Lyon County District Court, including several cases connected to alleged property crimes or violent activity.
Luis Abundiz-Correa has two preliminary hearings, one at 9 am on burglary and theft charges dating back to February 2021 and one at 9:30 am on aggravated battery and criminal damage charges dating back to late March 2021. Further details on both these cases are pending.
Amanda Renee Alvarado has a pretrial hearing at 2 pm on aggravated burglary, aggravated assault and other charges dating back to an alleged incident in October 2022 where she allegedly broke into a shop building near Emporia and threatened one person.
David Lee Brown is charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated battery after allegedly breaking into a home in central Emporia in late February 2021. A status hearing at 4 pm could lead to trial starting as early as March 20, with other trial start dates listed as April 24 or May 15.
Shedrick Tyrone Williams has a status hearing in an aggravated robbery, aggravated battery and burglary case connected to an alleged shooting incident at Emporia’s Eastgate Apartment complex in late July 2022. Trial in the Williams case could begin March 20, April 24 or May 1.
