Two people were hurt and one was hospitalized after a crash near downtown Emporia early Tuesday afternoon.
The wreck happened at the intersection of Fourth and Congress. Emporia Police Officer Jaffar Agha says a pickup was eastbound on Fourth, while a car was southbound on Congress. Agha says the car’s driver failed to yield at the intersection and the car broadsided the pickup.
The car driver was taken to Newman Regional Health for observation and possible treatment. The truck driver declined transport to a hospital. Names have not been released.
