The Kansas Jayhawks open up the NCAA Division I tournament Thursday against Howard in Des Moines.
Kansas is the No. 1-seed in the West region while Howard is the No. 16-seed.
Jalen Wilson says there’s no pressure heading into the tournament being the defending national champions.
Dajuan Harris says the Jayhawks are ready to play another team outside the Big 12.
Kansas assistant coach Norm Roberts says Howard is playing well heading into the tournament.
According to Roberts, Coach Bill Self is day-to-day and is recovering. Self did travel to Des Moines but not with the team.

The NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament is now down to 64 teams.
In the final first of 4 games Wednesday night:
Fairleigh Dickinson rolled to an 84-61 win over Texas Southern.
Arizona State defeated Nevada 98-73.
Fairleigh Dickinson will play Purdue Friday. Arizona State faces TCU Friday.
There are 16 first-round games on the schedule for Thursday and Friday.
The first game on Thursday has West Virginia playing Maryland.
#1 seed Alabama plays Texas A&M Corpus Christi
#1 seed Houston plays Northern Kentucky
Texas plays Colagate.
