The Emporia State baseball team was outscored by Pittsburg State 9-8 Tuesday.
In a back-and-forth game, Pittsburg State took the lead for good with 2 runs in the 8th inning after Emporia State had taken an 8-6 lead in the 7th inning.
For Emporia State, Kadyn Williams was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI and 4 runs scored. Noah Geekie was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI.
The Hornets fall to 8-15 for the season and 4-6 in the MIAA.
They are scheduled to play a 3 game series at Northwest Missouri State beginning Friday.
