Chase County residents are encouraged to attend a public hearing early next month as Strong City looks to build a new fire station.
The meeting April 5 will gauge public input as the city considers whether to apply for a $600,000 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant through the Kansas Department of Commerce.
Strong City is considering an over 10,000 square-foot, nearly $2 million replacement of its current headquarters at 503 Elm. The location for the new facility has not been finalized. Suggestions for this proposal and others will be considered.
The meeting is at 7 pm April 5 at the Swope Park Community Building, 1715 210 Road, in Cottonwood Falls. All comments — oral and written — will be recorded and will become part of the Chase County Community development Block Grant Citizen Participation Plan as discussions continue.
