The Emporia State softball team split a doubleheader with Hawaii Pacific Thursday.
The Lady Hornets won the first game 3-2 in 8 innings.
Emporia State scored their first run on an error in the 1st inning. Hawaii Pacific tied the game in the 6th inning.
Emporia State scored 2 runs in the 8th. Lexi Williams drove in a run with a single. The other run scored on an error. Hawaii Pacific added a run in the bottom of the 8th.
Hawaii Pacific rallied to win the 2nd game 9-8.
Emporia State was leading 8-0 going to the bottom of the 4th inning when Hawaii Pacific scored 7 runs.
For Emporia State Emma Furnish, Haley Garnett, and Ari Cordova each drove in 2 runs. Hawaii Pacific scored the tying run and go-ahead runs in the 6th inning.
The Lady Hornets will return to Emporia, they are scheduled to host Drury in a doubleheader Wednesday.
