Jury trial in an Emporia apartment shooting last summer may take place later this spring.
Trial in the case against Shedrick Tyrone Williams was reset for possibly starting April 24 or May 1 after a hearing in Lyon County District Court this week.
Williams is charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated battery and burglary after one person was shot at Emporia’s Eastgate Apartment complex this past July.
Separately, a Lyon County aggravated burglary and aggravated assault case is moving closer to trial.
Amanda Renee Alvarado’s hearing this week led to possible trial start dates of April 17, May 22 or June 12. There is a motions hearing April 5, followed by the status hearing April 12 which could well finalize the start of trial.
Alvarado is accused of breaking into a shop building near Emporia and threatening one person.
Meanwhile, trial in a separate aggravated burglary and aggravated battery case is now tentatively set for May 15 after a hearing this week. David Lee Brown is accused of breaking into a central Emporia home two years ago.
