The Emporia State baseball team split a doubleheader with Northwest Missouri State Sunday.
The Hornets won the 1st game 8-2. Kadyn Williams was 2 for 5 with 4 RBI. Both hits were triples.
Chandler Bloomer was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI.
Ian Lanik was the winning pitcher. Will Hann earned the save.
Northwest won the 2nd game 10-9.
Emporia State scored 5 runs in the 3rd inning. Northwest answered with 4 runs in the bottom of the 3rd and 3 runs in the 6th inning. Emporia State retook the lead with 3 runs in the top of the 9th but Northwest would walk off with the win scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th.
The two teams wrap up their 3 game series Monday afternoon.
