Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Kansas Highway Patrol and Emporia/Lyon County EMS all responded to a three vehicle crash between Emporia and Olpe Monday afternoon.
According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s office the accident occurred at the intersection of South Kansas Highway 99 and Road 90 right about noon Monday. A gold passenger car and white Chevy pickup truck were both traveling south bound with the car in front.
The driver of the passenger car then prepared to turn east onto Road 90 and reportedly failed to yield to a northbound Lyon County Road and Bridge truck. The truck struck the car on the passengers side and continued on to collide with the pickup.
Minor injuries were reported, however, all three drivers involved declined further medical treatment. KHP led the investigation.
There is currently no word on citations and names have not been released.

No transports were needed following an injury accident between Emporia and Olpe Monday afternoon.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of South Kansas Highway 99 and Road 90, roughly 8 miles south of Emporia, around noon. The number of vehicles and individuals involved and a full crash narrative are currently pending.
Emporia Fire reports there were none of the individuals involved required a trip to the hospital.
