A light pole was downed and two vehicles damaged but no injuries were reported after a two vehicle collision in central Emporia early Monday evening.
The accident was reported just after 6:25 pm at the intersection of 9th Ave. and Congress. According to Emporia Police Sgt. Dominick Vortherms, a black Chevrolet 1500 was traveling westbound on 9th Ave.
At that same time a White 2020 Ford Ranger was turning westbound onto 9th from Congress and failed to yield. The Ranger collided with the Chevy forcing it onto the curb where it struck and downed a light pole.
Both vehicles were disabled in the collision, however, neither driver required medical transportation. The driver of the Ranger was cited for inattentive driving.
