An early morning wreck on the Kansas Turnpike led to suspected minor injuries for a Wichita resident Monday.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident was reported just after midnight at mile marker 110.9 southbound. a 2010 Mazda driven by 19-year-old Amarion Walker of Wichita was traveling in the inside lane when Walker reportedly “nodded off” and struck a barrier wall.
Four sections of the wall were damaged during the crash and Walker struck the steering wheel. He then complained of lip and nose pain, however, the crash log does not state if Walker was taken to the hospital.
A passenger, 19-year-old Linden Duncan of Wichita, suffered no apparent injury. Both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
