Hartford Gymnasium saddled up on Monday in preparation for this year’s USD #252 Honor Flight.
While various students and members of the community hopped on the back of donkeys for a round of donkey basketball, walking tacos were sold earlier on in the night all in a fundraising attempt to send veterans to D.C.
USD 252 Honor Flight organizer Staci Garriott says that although some Veterans are hesitant right now, the trip results are overwhelmingly positive.
Gariott also says that the response from the community has been incredibly supportive in both attendance and fundraising.
This year’s veterans and student guardians are set to leave in April, with this event being the last fundraiser until the fall.
