Doug Bjerkaas’ time at Dynamic Discs is coming to an end.
Beginning on April 1, Bjerkaas will be working for the PDGA. Bjerkaas announced his news in a letter posted on Dynamicdiscs.com Wednesday afternoon. Bjerkaas is currently the president of Dynamic Discs, a role he’s held since the fall of 2021.
Bjerkaas has been associated with Dynamic Discs since September of 2007 when he met founder Jeremy Rusco. From that time, Rusco and Bjerkaas kept in contact after that. Dynamic Discs was the primary sponsor of a women’s event Bjerkaas started called the Rocky Mountain Women’s Disc Golf Championship.
In the fall of 2015, Rusco was searching for a tournament director for Dynamic Discs’ events held in Emporia and he reached out to Bjerkaas. In January 2016, Bjerkaas became the part-time Events Coordinator at Dynamic Discs.
Since then, Bjerkaas’ part-time role became full-time which included duties of community relations, special projects, and human resources and eventually becoming the company’s president.
Rusco says in the letter, “Doug’s departure certainly leaves a void in the top leadership role at Dynamic Discs. We are currently working on the adjustment of our organizational chart and will be announcing a new lead executive in the coming months.”
