USD 253 Emporia is offering special training this weekend for parents of students with intellectual disabilities.
The systems navigation training will take place Saturday at the Mary Herbert Education Center and is being hosted in cooperation between USD 253 and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. District Support Liaison Tara Glades says the training is all about equipping families with what they need to help their students succeed.
The training is free and will run from 9 am to 5 pm Saturday with lunch being served. There is limited availability — 25 seats — and residents will need to register by calling either 316-573-7097 or 620-341-2225.
