The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce will host an informational meeting for members of the community to learn about an upcoming travel opportunity to Canada.
The Chamber used to offer travel tours to other countries, but once the coronavirus pandemic occurred that travel ceased. Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jeanine McKenna says members of the community asked if these tours would one day come back and after researching options she says they decided to do it again this year.
This year’s trip will be to Canada offering nine days of activities through the western Canadian Rockies, Lakes and Wine Country. The cost of the trip is $3,849 per person. The price includes roundtrip airfare, first-class accommodations, eight breakfasts, two lunches and three dinners.
McKenna says this travel opportunity has the potential to serve as an indirect motivation for future tourism and partnerships for Emporia.
The informational meeting will take place Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the ValuNet FIBER Smart Room of the Trusler Business Center. A Zoom option will be available for those who cannot attend in person.
