It was a split between the blue and the red all-stars in the Flint Hills Optimist Club’s All-Star Classic Saturday at White Auditorium
The girls red all-stars defeated the blue all-stars 73-43.
Emporia High’s Rebecca Snyder led the red team and was named the Bryan Douglas Most Valuable Player with 23 points.
Red coach Kayla Abney says it was great to get the win.
In the boys game, it was the blue all-stars taking a 118-107 victory
Lebos Landon Grimmett was named co-MVP scoring 23 points for the red team.
Emporia High’s Parker Leeds had 24 points for the red team sharing the MVP honors with Grimmett.
Blue coach Eric Porter says his team just needed to go back to the fundamentals after holing a 2-point lead at halftime.
Lyndon’s Jolie Hieschler and Burlington’s Hayden Sides won the 3-point shooting contest.
Olpes Truman Bailey and Eureka’s Cadance Ptcaek won $500 scholarships drawn on Monday at the all-star teams banquet.
